ENL is presently preparing 2 project proposals for the European 6th Framework Programme (FP6) - the Integrated Project or Specific Targeted Research Project Sustainable Area Management (SAM Europe) and the Sustainability Network of Excellence (SNoE) Network of Excellence project. The Expressions of Interest were submitted together with the accompanying outline research proposals in June 2002.
Over 200 research organisations, SMEs, destination management organisations (DMOs) and NGOs across and beyond Europe have expressed their willingness to participate in the proposed ENL projects.
The Sustainable Area Management (SAM Europe) project is based around the sustainability modeling component of the eTrails Software Suite developed by ENL see easyTrails.com
