ENL has established a new office in Stuttgart, Germany. This will give ENL the opportunity to extend the concept of a multi-disciplinary consultancy network to Germany and will particularly link with German ecologists and landscape consultants to form a focal point for providing consultancy for the application of the NATURA 2000 legislation in Germany. ENL will base such work on the experience and processes developed in the UK.
Peter K A Barz, director of ENL and a German national explains: "The application of NATURA 2000 legislation creates considerable stresses in the planning system in Germany that requires expert advice in a wide variety of areas. By linking with German specialists from a variety of professions, we are looking forward to be involved with this quite elementary change to existing planning procedures."
