Background
Peter K A BARZ is the founder and manager of ENL. He is a forester and environmental manager and is active as a professional environmental and sustainable development consultant and business manager. He has over 25 years' international experience in a broad range of environmental consultancy work for private, corporate and statutory clients, including the European Commission as well as a range of engineering, planning, social, economic and IT consultants. Within ENL he primarily acts as research, development and management (RDM) coordinator establishing and supervising multi- and transdisciplinary consultancy teams in a wide range of applications.
His professional interests centre on sustainable development and globalisation issues, methodology development for and application of sustainability and environmental impact assessments, environmental auditing & management, environmental training & education, stakeholder management, integrated land use planning and software development.
He has developed a Sustainability Impact Assessment (SIA) methodology, and the Integrated Environmental (Impact) Assessment methodology (IEIA).
His recent work involves the development of eTrails (link), an integrated software suite for for sustainable regional development via the Internet integrating commercial tourism with rural resource development and the research into sustainability management principles.
